Black Corner Guards
Black Corner Guards
Black corner guards protect your outside wall corners from carts, luggage, forklifts and daily foot traffic — without the bright, reflective look of traditional metal trim. Black blends into dark walls, disappears against modern interiors, and hides scuffs and handprints far better than a polished finish, which makes it a favorite for restaurants, hotels, retail build-outs, apartment corridors, offices and back-of-house areas.
We stock black corner guards in three materials, so you can match the corner to the abuse it actually takes:
Black Stainless Steel Corner Guards
Stainless steel with a durable black finish. The best choice where the guard is on display and also has to survive moisture, cleaning chemicals and constant contact — commercial kitchens, food service, healthcare, restrooms and high-end retail. Stainless resists corrosion even at cut edges and drilled holes, so it holds up in wet and frequently sanitized areas.
Black Carbon Steel Corner Guards
Heavy, impact-resistant steel with a black powder-coated finish. Carbon steel gives you the most protection per dollar and is ideal for warehouses, loading docks, garages, stairwells and service corridors where corners take real hits from carts and equipment. Because the corrosion protection is in the coating rather than the metal, carbon steel is best used in dry interior locations and should be touched up if the finish is gouged.
Black Vinyl Corner Guards
The most economical option, and the easiest to install. The black color runs all the way through the vinyl instead of sitting on top of it, so scuffs and scratches don't expose a different color underneath. Vinyl absorbs impact rather than transmitting it into the wall, will not rust, and wipes clean — a strong fit for schools, hospitals, apartment buildings, corridors and any job where the guards are going up on a budget or over a lot of corners.
Which Black Corner Guard Should I Use?
| Stainless Steel | Carbon Steel | Vinyl | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Impact resistance | High | Highest | Moderate (absorbs impact) |
| Corrosion resistance | Excellent | Coating-dependent — interior, dry use | Will not rust |
| Appearance | Finished, architectural | Industrial | Uniform matte black |
| Relative cost | $$$ | $$$ | $$$ |
| Best for | Kitchens, healthcare, retail | Warehouses, docks, service areas | Schools, corridors, apartments, high corner counts |
Mounting & Ordering
Black corner guards are available in a range of wing sizes, lengths and thicknesses, with adhesive or mechanical (screw) mounting depending on the product. Not sure what you need? Measure how far out from the corner you want coverage (the wing), then how high up the wall you need protection (the length). Quantity discounts are available on every item — and if you don't see the size you need, call us and we'll quote it.
